Questions
How do I start a game?
Open oftr.io/play on your phone, pick a game and start a room. Share the room code or the QR with your friends and they're in.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Everything runs in the browser. If you want an icon on your home screen, open oftr.io/play and use Add to Home Screen (iPhone, in Safari's Share menu) or Install app (Android, in Chrome's menu).
Can we play on a TV?
Yes, in the games that support it: open the game on the TV or a laptop plugged into it, and everyone plays from their own phone.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play with just a name. A profile is only for keeping friends, invites and favourites, and it signs you in with a passkey instead of a password.
I've got a new phone. How do I sign in?
Passkeys usually sync with your phone's password manager (iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager), so signing in on a new phone normally just works. While you're signed in on a device, you can also add a passkey for it from Me.
Notifications don't arrive
Turn them on from Me and allow them when your phone asks. On iPhone, notifications only work once the app is added to your home screen.
There's no sound
Phones only allow sound after your first tap, so tap anywhere once. Check the mute switch and volume, and the sound toggle at the top of the page.
Delete your profile
- Open oftr.io/play and sign in.
- Go to Me.
- Tap Delete profile and confirm.
Your profile, passkeys, friends, hearts, invites and push subscriptions are removed. See Privacy for what we keep and why.
